Kim Kardashian is furious because Paris Hilton keeps canceling dates.
During the making of the book, Jonathan Van Meter wanted to speak with Paris Hilton, who had known Kim Kardashian since childhood and had hired her as an assistant in the early 2000s. However, the "party queen" reportedly canceled interviews multiple times, much to Kim Kardashian's annoyance. "Kim was furious when I told her about it. It seemed to reignite a long-standing resentment between them. It was like the creator turned her back on the creator," Jonathan Van Meter told The Hollywood Reporter , implicitly linking Paris Hilton's role in launching Kim Kardashian into the world of celebrity to Kim's subsequent rise and the resulting strained relationship. The author added: "I sent questions, contacted Paris's assistant, and the interview was canceled 17 times in about four months. Ultimately, I realized those cancellations were more interesting than anything she could have told me."
