Tonight, October 21st, and early tomorrow morning, October 22nd, the Orionids meteor shower will reach its peak, offering an opportunity to admire streaks of light hurtling across the night sky, according to the Hanoi Astronomical Society (HAS).

Orionids form when the Earth passes through the dust trails left behind by Halley's Comet in its orbit. As these tiny dust particles hurtle through the atmosphere at speeds of approximately 66 km/s, they create brilliant streaks of light across the sky.
